Classes Offered

jTailored 1-3 day courses covering basic/advanced knifemaking, forge welding and general metalsmithing. Specific topics may include design, templating, grinding, heat treating, guards and bolsters, handles, finishing, sharpening, leather/kydex sheaths, basic to mosaic pattern-welding, dry welding, mokume gane, soldering, texturing, carving and patination. Safety is covered in every course.

What's Included

F ull 8-10 hour day(s) of instruction, basic materials needed to complete a knife/project (steel for forge welding, base metals for mokume gane and premium handle materials cost extra),  meals and private, on-site lodging.

Location

I'm located in Monroe Township, Pennsylvania close to the town of Noxen. We are about 40 minutes from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton airport.

Pricing

One day - $400/single OR $600/double*

Two days - $750/single OR $1125/double*

Three days - $1000/single OR $1500/double*

​

*Double (two person) classes must share the same basic topics and itinerary.

Local students deduct $50/day if on-site lodging isn't required.

What to Bring

Safety gear to include eye, hearing and respiratory protection. Wear closed footwear and avoid flammable (synthetic) clothing. Gloves and a hat are recommended for some procedures. You will be required to sign a waiver.
